PowerBuilder

PowerBuilder → TypeScript / React

PowerBuilder ran a huge share of the client/server business applications built in the 1990s and 2000s, and many of them still run companies today. The problem is people: the developers who built these systems are retiring, and new engineers do not learn PowerBuilder. We parse the application, including DataWindows and the business rules embedded in them, into a model and generate a modern web application from it.

Visual Basic 6

VB6 → TypeScript / React

Microsoft ended support for Visual Basic 6 years ago, but VB6 forms and business logic are still in production everywhere, and the runtime gets harder to keep alive with every Windows release. We map the full codebase, every form, module, and dependency, then transform it into a standard web application your team can maintain.

COBOL → clean, standard code

COBOL still runs core back-office processing in finance, insurance, and government. The systems work, but every year fewer people can maintain them. We model COBOL programs and generate clean, standard code, preserving business rules that took decades to accumulate.

Oracle Forms / Reports

Oracle Forms → TypeScript / React

Oracle Forms has run government and banking back offices since the 1990s, usually with the real business logic buried in PL/SQL underneath. Oracle has been steering customers toward APEX and Java for years, and Forms skills are getting scarce. We parse the Forms definitions and the PL/SQL together, model them, and generate a modern web application. We also convert the PL/SQL itself, including Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations.

RPG / IBM i

RPG / IBM i → TypeScript / React

RPG applications on IBM i (AS/400) still run distribution, trading, and manufacturing companies around the world. The platform is reliable, but the green-screen applications on it are hard to extend and harder to hire for. We model RPG programs and display files the same way we model COBOL, and generate a standard web application that preserves the business rules.

Classic ASP / .NET WebForms

ASP / WebForms → TypeScript / React

A generation of intranet and line-of-business web applications was built on Classic ASP and .NET WebForms. They still work, but they are tied to aging versions of Windows and IIS, and the postback-era architecture fights every modern requirement. We transform them into clean TypeScript / React applications on current frameworks.

Nexaweb

Nexaweb → modern HTML5 architecture

Nexaweb powered enterprise rich internet applications before HTML5, and platform support has since ended, so applications built on it need a path forward. Nobody knows Nexaweb like we do: Vivify was founded by the team behind it. We convert Nexaweb applications to a modern HTML5 architecture automatically.

Early Java web frameworks, old JavaScript stacks, and proprietary runtimes like Biz/Browser all reach the same point: hard to maintain, hard to hire for, and stuck behind the browser and security requirements of today.
